This is the book that turned me into a writer:
This was my textbook for an honors freshman English rhetoric and composition class way back in 1989. It opened my eyes to writing as an art form not just in fiction but in all its aspects. I credit this book (and Professor Wadlington) for turning me into an avid writer, later a professional editor, and now a professor of legal writing in law school. It is a bit basic for my law students, but I'm including it as optional reading anyway.
