What is the purpose of this book? If the purpose is to convey information to the reader, it is a gigantic failure. If the purpose of the book is to try and dazzle other professors, it may be a partial success. I have a Masters degree in this field, and was not at all impressed. The use technical terminology is excessive by a factor of 10. For example, in defining the word "reinforcement", the autor uses the term "reinforcement" to explain what "reinforcement" means. Perfect for its purpose:
This book is perfect for its purpose. Just wish that it was on the kindle!!!! I'd like to take this book everywhere I go but its too heavy! PLEASE PUT IT ON THE KINDLE!!!!!! SO MANY CHILDREN WOULD BENEFIT!!!!
Bible for ABA:
Everything you need to know in one text book. Even better than the 1st edition which I also own. Worth every penny. My favorite resource.
Years pass and still this gleams:
There are a few things about this book that should be said right away. First, this is not really an introductory book to ABA, but works as a book that ties so many theories together. That means that it could be used in conjunction with many starter ABA books, allowing its reader to get a feel of just what ABA means. The book also works on both a Masters and a PhD level when it comes to conceptual decision/ debate (an oddity if I do say so myself), and covers so many things that cheaper guides seem to omit.... more info
