Fast but informative reading:
This is a very condensed book on ways to improve your writing with handy little tips that either steer you, or confirm any uncertain points you may have had about your creative writing style. Yes, it is a little old school but without knowing the basics your writing will never improve.
Boring - I don't want writing advice from a someone who can't write.:
This book is boring. I used it for killing flies. Any book on writing should be amazing -- why would you want to learn from writing from someone who was not good?
Other good books include: Secrets of the Written Word, and On Writing Well.
Great Reading:
I really enjoyed reading part of this book, it is informative and funny at the same time, unfortunately I have not finished the book, I lost it when I moved and need to buy another copy.

Mr Provost filled the book with examples that are easy to understand and he had styled the book in a reader friendly and comprehensive format. You could read the book from page 1 to the end and undergo the systematic built up to better writing or you could easily refer to the relevant sections without feeling lost.
