Not for the digital photographer:
This book is typical of Lee's style of photographic book. Lots of great images all biased toward film usage with medium format and 6x17 cameras. This is what I expected and hoped for. There is some small references to digital but if you are after technique based digital articles than there are better books elsewhere but if you are after inspiraton and still enjoy film based photography than this book is excellent. I really like this book and for these reason I would highly recommend it.
A good book marred by lack of proofreading:
I found Lee Frost's "The A_Z of Creative Photography" a great book for a beginner, and I was eagerly anticipating the release of "Landscape Photography. I was not entirely disappointed. Lee Frost is clearly a very talented landscape photographer, and the book is well organized, with clear explanations of technique, importance of filters (especially grads), composition, and lighting. There are chapters with useful hints for wild country, rivers and lakes, coastal scenery, tropics, and urban environments. One... more info
