I use this book with gifted students. They really love seeing what new words we will learn for the week. As most are avid readers, they recognize some of the words from reading, but may not have understood meanings in the past. An excellent tool for a teacher of language arts!
Useful Tool:
I'm an older person (age 60) who bought this book (H) after seeing a more elementary book in the series that my niece was using for school. I've always loved words and have a good recognition vocabulary, but sometimes don't pronounce words correctly or don't know for sure how to use a word. Pure crud.:
I bought my home-schooled child all of these books and they didn't teach him a gosh-durned thing! Jerome Shostak needs to learn how to read before he writes a book on telling other people how to read. This was crud! Pure and simple! Read "Lizard Music" by Daniel Manus Pinkwater if you want a book that will teach you new words, and help you understand life and give you all the secrets to the world!

If you knew what the title to this review meant, or just wish you did, this is the kind of book you can buy and actually just read for fun; it's quite interesting. At least, if you're as big a dork as I am.
However, if I happen to have spelled that wrong and you neither noticed nor cared, then you're probably going to be pretty bored. And, quite frankly, that's pretty respectable in it's own right.
