I particularly like Jim Zucerman's way of giving advice. He has several images per chapter, and he dissects how they were taken, how they were marketed, how they were set up, etc.
Sprinkle in a few location recommendations each chapter, and this book is well worth the 24.95 i paid. The day after I bought it, his tips for photographing an aquarium came in handy. ...

This book really helps with fine tuning your photo techniques by exploring more interesting compositions of the same subject. It touches on lighting, filters and techniques breifly and goes into more depth on marketing your images. This is a great book for someone who has been taking pictures for awhile and is looking to improve their photography and possibly start submitting photos for print.
