To give grantseekers an idea of what's working in the field, Winning Strategies for Developing Grant Proposals provides copies of actual award-winning proposals, tips on why some proposals fail, insight into some of the most common mistakes made by grantseekers, and a handy reference checklist of do's and don'ts when writing a grant proposal. Topics featured in Winning Strategies include: "Creating a Grant Proposal Library"; "Standard Elements of a Proposal"; "What Kind of Funding Is Available From the Federal Government"; and "Addressing Common Concerns About Project Management." The 96-page soft-bound book also includes lists of resources for more information about federal agencies, corporate and foundation grantmakers, and current grant opportunities. Copies of the standard application forms used by the federal government, as well as a sample grant proposal form used by many private foundations, are reproduced in the book.
