They move from job to job and in and out of prison, struggle to . . . understand loving attachment, make crucial misjudgments, defend . . . what they believe are manly virtues, and absorb deep . . . disappointments."

Of beauty and the senses:
Bailey's language is of beauty and the senses, each scene surrounding the reader, evoking new feelings from events common and no so common. Tom Bailey is Worth Checking Out!:
"Crow Man" is an excellent collection of short fiction. Bailey's writing sucks the reader into the story, making it feel as if you ARE the main character. "Snow Dreams," the first story in the book, is gutwrenching. His profound understanding of how to craft a story is remarkable. Aspiring writers would be wise to also check out "On Writing Short Stories" and "A Short Story Writer's Companion." Look for Bailey's writing to really take off in popularity in the near future.
