A good first book on Indesign CS2:
If you like to learn by doing I highly recommend this book. The author writes in a very clear understandable manner that even those who have never used a page layout program will be able to follow. You won't have to worry about him assuming that you already know some piece of info that you need to do the projects. He starts each chapter by giving an introduction to the chapter and then walks you through actual projects that you can then do as you work through the book. I'm glad I read the reviews for this book. How stupid to print a book in black and white when teaching a graphics program that involoves color. It stopped me from making a purchase. I'll now look for the colored teacher's edition.
Best series of books for learning CS2 for me...but teachers edition is better in PhotoShop and Illustrator...becasue:
The teachers edition is a better purchase (though a lot more expensive) becasue the teachers edition is in color and comes with a CD for the lessons. Yet when I was doing my first book by them it was illustrator. Very frustrating at times that they would tell you to to pick such and such a colored item and compare it to the example in the book...but the book was in grey scale.
