Tense Thriller:
When I was a teen-ager, I thought I would never be like my parents, who just didn't keep up with some of the changes in the world. I was pretty cool, and thought I would always understand the culture of the day. This book proved I was wrong. "Try Dying" is a suspenseful story about a lawyer (one of the good ones) who loses his fiance' in a tragic accident . . . but was it the accident that really killed her? Getting to the bottom of that question in LA/Hollywood puts Ty Buchanan's life and career... more info
Try Dying:
As an avid reader of series books i.e. Alex Cross, Kinsey Milhone, Alex Delaware, etc., I throughly enjoyed James Scott Bell's book Try Dying with his new character, Ty Buchanan. As a Criminal Lawyer, Ty has gone through tough, dramatic, life changing situations in this first book, which leaves you wanting to see what happens next and how he handles what comes at him. Part of Ty's charm is his wit - a mix of humor and sarcasm - that keeps him relatable. I'm patiently waiting Mr. Bell!
Couldn't read it!:
It took me nearly a week to get to page 78 - and I just gave up. The short choppy chapters should have made this book fast-paced - they didn't. I kept reading because the repressed memory part was interesting. Ultimately I was too bored to keep reading. Our hero, Ty was TSTL - too stupid to live. Duh, how many times did he get whacked on the head???? Just not good and hard to follow.
Try putting this down after you start it:
What a terric new series from great storyspinner James Scott Bell.
The reviews before mine state everything I could possibly say, however, I just wanted to give thoughts/kudos' if you will for this new genre from Mr. Bell...wow...I truly read it in one day...he has the ability to roll from one chapter to the other, and taking the reader along with him. A GREAT read...highly recommended
