Great, Must Have TV Drama writing book:
I own several books on TV writing but this one is the by the far the best I've read. It breaks down a TV season from show conception to show airing, has great example/sample script excerpts, and explains the TV writing process in a classroom style format. It felt like you were taking a Pamela Douglas class. Don't walk, run to buy this book.
Lightbulb:
Granted I am only at the beginning stages of my TV writing ambitions but reading this book was like discovering a shiny chrome zippo lighter after spending years trying to make fire by rubbing sticks together in the desert. With this book in my collection I feel like I'm ready to start with a realistic idea of what to expect.

Filled with inspired and inspiring interviews by TV greats, this is a must-read for anyone serious about writing series!" -- Derek Rydall, Screenwriter, Best-Selling Author, "I Could've Written a Better Movie than that!" So for example, if you are writing a Dexter spec, as so many of us are right now, there's an insightful interview with "Guest Speaker" and exec producer Melissa Rosenberg that you will find extremely helpful in structuring your script. There's also great advice from... more info
