Fun and Practical Tips:
Like her novels Evonovich makes this "how to" book fun to read. She gives examples from her Plum series to illustrate the points she makes.
Not only is there advice for the technical aspects of writing, but she has points that are not found in a "text book" style format. Rather than having to force myself to read for improvement, I read this book because it was still helpful, but also entertaining. Evonovich loaded this book with tips that are useful, advice that makes sense, and examples that... more info

Whenever I hit a snag in my writing, I stop and read a few pages of her book. Its like one of those... more info
Great for that boost of confidence...:
I love reading Evanovich's books; so when I found out that she has written a how-to book on writing, I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy. The very first page grabbed me with her essential rules, and made me laugh aloud. I was guilty. After that, I could not put it down. :D This book is written in Evanovich's usual style, and she answers so many questions that I have always had regarding publishing a book. She goes through her system of writing, the actual parts of a story and how you may want to... more info
