multi language translator:

Being an experienced traveler, it is always helpful to have a device such as this if your personal translator is not available. The is a very easy to use device, lightweight and travels well.
The purchasing experience was also quick and I received my item as described and exceeded my satisfaction.
I would recommend this product if you are not comfortable speaking the native tongue to where you are traveling.

Very helpful:

I bought this because I wanted a little help learning some touristy lingo, for Spain, and Greece. Great little helper. Clear, and somewhat easy to use. Only gripe is that it has a very limited vocabulary. But enough to get you around where your going.

It doesn't work!:

We purchased this translator based on the good reviews on Amazon. We tried to translate from English to Japanese. When the "Translate" button is pushed the unit reboots itself from time to time, and all the setup information and saved phrases are all erased each time. This makes the unit completely unusable for us. They did not test each language thoroughly.

Great! ...if you need it.:

I purchased the Translator to provide French phrases while I visited the Seychelles Islands in July 2009. It provides exactly what it promises. You can select from 700 English phrases, then it pronounces your selection in French while displaying the French spelling. You need to learn a few French nouns to expand some questions with a verbal substitute. It is a little cumbersome and time consuming to find the English phrase you want to want to translate.
